One of our representatives, Andrei Schiop - Business Development Manager attended IoTTechExpo event that explored during 2 days, 1-2 June, in Estrel Berlin, the latest IoT innovations with over 100 speakers such as Peter Hoffmeister - Senior Director of the IoT Technical Sales at Microsoft, Alun Jones - Data Scientist at Konecranes, Derek Myers - Group Director, Channel Strategy & Development at Coca-Cola, Stefan Gubi - Senior Vice President Cross Industries & IoT at T-Systems, Ralf Hagen - Engineering Manager MES/E&A at Nestlé, Martin Spoerri Director IT - Head Info Foundation & Smart Analytics at Swiss Re and so many others. See the entire list of speakers here.

AROBS Transilvania Software takes into consideration the development of a new line of products for medical institutions based on sensors. Also, we are constantly working on the already existent product TrackGPS adding new sensors to collect even more information and data that is why it was mandatory to check out the latest trends in the IoT market and make a research on artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

AI Expo 2017

There is a high necessity of innovation in the tech environment in order to catch peoples’ attention and interest so we wished to find out insights from the 2nd annual European event. The conference gathered together experts, knowers, and explorers of the IoT ecosystem offering highest level content of discussion over 6 conferences, case studies on solutions and examples from industry leaders. Maybe the most expected part was the live demos, networking opportunities, and the start-up incubator.

The conference themes covered Business Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, AI Algorithms, Data & Analytics, Virtual Assistants & Chatbots.

Among exhibitors, we mention T-Systems, Actility, Pentaho, A Hitachi Group Company, AAEON Europe, Cloudera and so many others. You can see the entire list with over 200 exhibitors here.

AROBS interests are Machine Learning, bots, Deep Learning and Data analytics, platforms for Internet of Things and IoT Operations and Beacons with Sensors inside. The event enlarged the perspectives of how the market is developing in this direction.

Latest trends in the IoT ecosystem

There was a vast collection of topics of which several ones really gained our attention, such as IoT architectures for interoperability theme approached by Gerard van der Hoeven - Founding Partners IoT Gurus, Dr Christopher - Anhalt Senior Representative OPC Foundation, Dr. Josef J. Blanz - Vice Chair OneM2M Technical Plenary and Aurelius Wosylus Director Sales & Partners Germany Sigfox.

IoT & GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) made a point on how to protect sensitive data saying that data in an IoT cloud environment can be effectively protected through encryption. Also, there were discussions about how medical device apps and connected sensors will drive a health revolution. Another subject that gained participants’ attention was related to blockchains and cryptocurrencies. See the agenda for day 1 and day 2.

IT development

We could spot some products that might be of an interest for AROBS, such as CO2 monitoring with TrackGPS and Asset management solution with Beacons for Medical Institutions.

All in all, we came back with lots of insights and new perspectives of how IoT is developing on the market at the moment. We face an obviously digital transformation and large IT companies have to get ready to revolutionize the market and come up with innovative ideas in this direction.
