When to go for a “project based approach” and when for the “time and materials”

Last week, on October 28, we had the pleasure to host the PMI Romania monthly meeting.

The cost estimation for a new project is one of the most difficult missions managers (and not only ours) have to face. When to go for a “project based approach” and when for the “time and materials”, this what our colleague Claudiu Mailat discussed with our PMI guests last week. It was an interesting debate and we hope that the project managers of the local IT companies drew some helpful conclusions.

We had almost 80 participants, mostly certified as a PMP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP and PMI-ACP but also their guests (non-members of PMI Romania).

The usual format of these meetings involves a presentation and then a discussion panel which aims to analyze thoroughly as many aspects of the topic as possible. The networking is not neglected either especially because PMI Romania wishes to grant access to all those interested to become members.

You can learn more about PMI on their website.
