SpeedTraps Wins the Romanian Nokia Calling All Innovators Competition

Bucharest, September, 23rd: AROBS Transilvania Software, developer of SpeedTraps, won the 1st prize in the Nokia’s 2010 Calling All Innovators Competition in Romania. SpeedTraps intends to create a national community of drivers, willing to share information on traffic events.

The contest was launched in March and the finalists were announced at the end of June. SpeedTraps' competitors in this contest were 22 mobile applications submitted by 16 Romanian developers.

The prize won by SpeedTraps application included a cash award of 6,000 Euro.

SpeedTraps was launched by AROBS for worldwide users in May 2010 and for Romanian users in August. The application has been downloaded by 46,800 international users and over 6,600 Romanian users until the date of this press release.
SpeedTraps' innovative aspect is that it enables drivers in its community to share information while on the road. They can report traffic real-time events, such as traffic jams, police patrols, mobile and fixed speed cameras. The drivers will also have the possibility to vote the traffic events submitted by other drivers, to confirm or deny their alerts. All alerts can be sent using Twitter and Facebook.

SpeedTraps is available on iTunes and Nokia Ovi Store.
